Earthquakes are natural disasters that strike suddenly and unexpectedly. Proper preparation can save your life and that of your loved ones. This article will teach you how to deal with an earthquake before, during, and after it strikes.
How to deal with earthquakes.
Consciousness. Consciousness is important in dealing with earthquakes. It can affect one's ability to leave the area. Consciousness enables one to safely leave, including turning off power, gas, and water switches to prevent other hazards.

- Plan escape routes and family gathering locations
- Prepare a life bag, including drinking water, dry food, medicine, flashlight, radio, and important documents.
- Check the strength of the house and securely fix heavy furniture.
- Practice how to "squat, crawl, and cover the head"

- Inside the building: Lie under a table or sturdy furniture to protect your head and neck. If you are inside the building, move immediately as earthquakes may cause the building to collapse. Find the exit door and find a hard object to protect your head.
- Outdoor, avoid lamp posts, trees, and buildings.
- Seek shelter. If you are in an open area, seek shelter, such as under a sturdy piece of equipment, or if you are in a building, stand near a wall in the middle of the building, which is the safest. And never stand near a building window, as it may crack and be damaged in an earthquake.
- When driving, please slow down. Do not stop immediately. Park outdoors and avoid approaching buildings, mountains, and dangerous beaches. Then seek cover.
- Never use the elevator.
After an earthquake : Check for safety.
- Check for injuries to yourself or others.
- Turn off gas, electricity, and water if damaged.
- Listen to the radio for official updates.
- Be aware of aftershocks that may occur within minutes or hours after the main earthquake.

No one can stop an earthquake, but everyone can prepare. Knowledge and training are the keys to reducing the loss of life and property.
