Everyone is likely aware that in the agricultural industry, increasing crop yield and quality is the primary goal of farmers worldwide. The use of fertilizers is a key factor that helps achieve this objective. When thinking of fertilizers, there are hundreds of types, but today, let's get to know one type of fertilizer that is a major nutrient and plays a crucial role in plant growth Monopotassium Phosphate (MKP)

"Let's get to know MKP"

Monopotassium Phosphate (MKP) is an important source of nutrients used in chemical fertilizers, consisting of highly effective potassium(K) and phosphorus (P). These are essential macronutrients that plants require in large quantities and are widely used in economic crops, cereals, fruits, and vegetables. MKP promotes root growth and disease resistance, is highly soluble in water, and leaves no residues. When used according to recommendations, it is safe and highly effective in agriculture. Additionally, it can also be used as a food flavor enhancer, in controlling starch for yeast fermentation in beer, and in animal feed production.

Let's take a look at the symptoms of plants that are lacking nutrients.

It leads to reduced yields. For cereal crops,
it causes the seeds to be shriveled and lightweight.

It causes the plant's growth to stagnate, resulting in stunted growth. Some plants may have twisted stems, and the wood becomes hard but brittle and easily breakable.

How to Use in Agriculture and Precautions !!!

Mixing in Fertilizer Formulas : It can be used as an ingredient in various fertilizer formulas, such as liquid fertilizers and powder fertilizers, to improve the efficiency of providing essential nutrients to plants.

  • Use according to the recommended rates by experts or manufacturers to avoid overuse, which may result in excessive nutrient intake by plants and cause damage.
  • Improper usage may impact the absorption of other minerals, such as magnesium and calcium.

Foliar Spraying : Foliar spraying is a method that allows plants to absorb nutrients quickly and directly, helping to reduce nutrient loss caused by runoff into the soil. The typical application rate is around 1-2% of the solution in water, depending on the type of plant and growing conditions.

  • Avoid spraying during periods of strong sunlight or high temperatures, as this may cause the plant leaves to burn.
  • It is recommended to spray in the morning or evening when the temperature is cooler, allowing the plants to absorb the nutrients more effectively.

Use in Drip Irrigation System : It can be used in a drip irrigation system to provide plants with a consistent and efficient supply of nutrients.

  • Regularly inspect and clean the drip irrigation system to prevent clogging that may occur from residue buildup.
  • Use in the appropriate amount to prevent the accumulation of chemicals in the soil.

Warning!! This is very important.

You should wear protective equipment such as gloves and goggles when mixing or spraying MKP, and avoid direct contact with skin and eyes. If contact occurs, wash immediately with clean water.
